I recently wrote an eBook called

"How To Plan Your Dream Wedding
On YOUR Budget In Only 10 Days"

and I'm holding a Dream
Wedding Story contest to celebrate.

It works like this:

--Brides download my book from www.SimplyYourSpecialDay.com and use the information to rack up savings on their weddings.
--Then, they post their savings story on my blog.
--The bride with the best story wins $1,000 toward her dream wedding.

The best part is that I'm giving my book away FREE until October 5th.

THE MEZZANINE
ANTIQUE CENTER

FREE OPEN HOUSE
Sunday October 26 • 1:00- 5:00pm
in Kingston's Historic Rondout Waterfront District

Now that Fall is just around the corner, I wanted to invite everyone to an "open house" at the latest incarnation of the Mezzanine. For those who have visited us before, not to worry. Even though we are now an antique center, we still have our signature coffee and whole leaf teas! The autumn leaves will have turned and the waterfront will be gorgeous. My husband and I would love the chance to show off the newly renovated antique shop.

The Rondout Business Association will be honoring Italian culture and traditions with a celebration- Kingston's first "Taste of Italy in the Rondout" on Sunday October 12. Local restaurants will offer a selection of regional Italian specialty dishes for everyone to indulge. The all-day menu will consist of everyone's favorite dishes. Relax in the ambiance of a European sidewalk café with alfresco dining along West Strand (if it rains, the side walk café will be set up under a big tent). Proceeds from the food sales will benefit the Queen's Galley Food Insecurity Resource Center. The Queen's Galley, located in Kingston is now serving 8,000 meals a month...three meals a day EVERY day of the year, all of them freshly cooked from REAL ingredients....served restaurant style on real plates...dining with dignity is a hallmark of their organization. The Rondout Business Association is proud to host this event as a fundraiser for the Queen's galley soup kitchen.

Opera lovers will be mesmerized by the exquisite voice of renown tenor Frank Tenaglia as he performs in the gazebo. In addition to listening, you can dance to your favorite Italian music and songs performed by the Baccala band. For the kids, the Hudson River Maritime Museum's grape-stomping event will be back bigger and better. BB the clown will be on hand to entertain and St. Mary's Benevolent Society will host the children's carnival games. The Rondout Business Association thanks the City of Kingston, Ulster Chamber of Commerce, Daily Freeman, WBPM, Vesuvio Foods, Ulster Savings Bank, Rondout Savings Bank, and Scenic Hudson for their support and participation in the "Taste of the Italy in the Rondout" celebration.

We Need Everyone in Town to HELP!
Don't throw away those beads, bows and trinkets! Donate them to a Fantastic, Town-wide, Kid-centered, Spectacular Rhinebeck Event December 6th

Call for Materials Needed: Beads, buttons, bows, ribbons, trinkets, charms, lace, yarn, glitter, oddities, shells, do-dads, streamers, decorative papers, old ornaments, necklaces — anything FUN and SHINY. WHY do we need these goodies? Because after a long hiatus, a fine old Rhinebeck Tradition is returning! Revived and transformed to reflect the values of all our community members, a town-wide Winter celebration (formerly known as "Old Dutch Christmas") is returning as Sinterklass "An Old Dutch Tradition" with a Rhinebeck twist!

Community representatives from local government, business, education, civic, religious, and arts organizations are donating their time and energy to remake, update and revive this fondly remembered celebration of Rhinebeck's rich cross-cultural past. Sinterklaas has been celebrated in Holland in one form or another for time immemorial. The Dutch, both a seafaring and pastoral people, possessed a unique blend of adventurousness and open-mindedness coupled with a strong mythic imagination. Like many wintertime celebrations, Sinterklaas focuses on the child as the symbol for faith in return and renewal and children play a vital role in these ritual events.

On December 6, 2008, the children of Rhinebeck will be called to help us celebrate all people, with all kinds of spirituality in this new celebration, shaped by our community. Look for more information in the coming months! There will be educational activities, puppet building workshops, art and storytelling. AND — on the day of the event — December 6 — at a lively, noisy and bustling workshop in the center of town, hundreds of children will make their own "Crowns and Branches" that transform them into Queens & Kings of the Starlight Parade at day's end. This is where we will use your donations of odds and ends. The Crowns and Branches need lots of joyful fittings!

Please call 758-5519 to DONATE any materials and we will make arrangements to collect or have you drop them somewhere that's convenient for you. THANK YOU!!

Psssst! Meanwhile, take your kids to look in the window at the old Bing's Restaurant at 46 West Market Street, and see a display of the puppets from the old event that are just waiting to come out and dance in the streets of Rhinebeck again!
